Allotments
Wayford Parish Council acquired the land known as Wayford Allotments by a Conveyance of 8th June 1925. although the land is shown as being used for allotments on a map of 1903. The allotments were in use until at least 1967 by which time there was only one tenant remaining.
From 1971 until 2021 the land was rented to a local farmer.
In 2020 the Parish Council received an expression of interest from a local resident who wished to rent a plot. The Parish Counci had previously received advice that the allotments are statutory allotments which menas that if there are local residents who wish to rent a plot, the Parish Council is obliged to provide the land.
The land was taken back and marked out into 8 plots. 6 plots are now rented and under cultivation. There are 2 vacant plots.
